33% of Pakistani Women Used Mobile Internet in 2023
According to recent statistics, mobile internet access among women in Pakistan is rapidly increasing, and Pakistani women have surpassed their counterparts in other regional countries in this area.
Over the past few years, the rate of mobile internet usage among women has consistently risen, with a particularly notable increase in 2024. The gap between mobile internet usage among men and women has decreased from 38% to 25%, marking significant progress.
Currently, 45% of women in Pakistan use mobile internet, compared to 39% in India and only 26% in Bangladesh. Women in rural areas have also played a key role in this growth.
In 2023, 33% of Pakistani women used mobile internet, which rose to 45% within just one year. There was also a 7% increase in the number of male users during this period.
In South Asia, Pakistani men rank highest in mobile phone ownership, with 93% owning a mobile phone. This is compared to 71% in India and 68% in Bangladesh.
Awareness about mobile internet usage has also significantly improved in Pakistan, reaching 89% among men and 86% among women.
