As India experiences intense pre-monsoon showers, waterborne diseases are spreading rapidly. Among the affected is Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi, who has been diagnosed with dengue fever.
According to Indian media reports, Hashmi has taken a temporary break from the shooting of his upcoming film following the diagnosis.
He was working on the Pan-Indian film “OG”, alongside actor Pawan Kalyan. The actor reportedly began feeling unwell while shooting in Aarey Colony, Goregaon (Mumbai).
Sources reveal that Hashmi was showing symptoms consistent with dengue. On doctors’ advice, he underwent medical tests, which confirmed the diagnosis.
Doctors have advised the actor to take rest. As a thorough professional, Emraan promptly informed the filmmakers about his condition and expressed regret over halting the shoot.
The filmmakers were understanding and assured the actor that his health was their top priority.
Currently, Hashmi is recovering at home. While it’s not yet clear how long his break will last, sources suggest he may be out for a week. Once fully recovered, he is expected to resume shooting for the film.
Production sources indicate that the actor’s health is improving and he is recovering quickly.
Emraan Hashmi is making his Telugu film industry debut with “OG”, where he plays a key role. The film stars Pawan Kalyan in the lead role, with Priyanka Mohan as the female lead. It is scheduled for a worldwide release on September 25, 2025.
About Dengue Fever
Dengue fever is caused by a mosquito that breeds in clean water. It is one of the fastest-spreading mosquito-borne diseases worldwide.
Globally, around 400 million people are infected with dengue each year, out of which approximately 96 million suffer from severe symptoms.
The virus is transmitted when an infected mosquito bites a person, injecting the virus into the bloodstream.
