After the trailer of Prem Sundari dropped, Pavithra Menon posted a strong reaction on social media. Although she later deleted the post, her words started a heated discussion. She asked why Jhanvi Kapoor is putting in so much effort to adapt the accent, when many talented Malayalam actresses could play the role naturally.

Menon pointed out that Bollywood often overlooks regional actors. She stressed that if she can speak Hindi fluently, then a Hindi actress should also be able to respect and deliver Malayalam convincingly. She argued that there is no reason to exclude Malayalam talent from such roles.

Clarifying her stance, Pavithra Menon said she has no hatred toward Jhanvi Kapoor. Instead, her concern is about the casting pattern in Bollywood. According to her, this practice feels outdated, especially in 2025, when inclusivity should be a priority.
