Islamabad hosted the central ceremony for Independence Day and the Battle of Truth victory at Jinnah Sports Stadium. The event brought together federal cabinet members, parliamentarians, ambassadors from friendly countries, and thousands of citizens.
Military Parade and March Past
The ceremony featured an impressive march past by a tri-services music band, the Pakistan Army, Navy, Air Force, Punjab Rangers, and Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Special Services Group (SSG) commandos also participated, showcasing precision and discipline.
International Participation
Adding to the prestige of the event, military contingents from Türkiye and Azerbaijan joined the parade, symbolizing strong defense and diplomatic ties.
Double Celebration for the Nation
This year’s celebrations held special meaning, marking both Pakistan’s independence and a historic victory against India. Across the country, streets, neighborhoods, and cities were decorated with green and white flags, reflecting a spirit of pride and unity.
Parliament’s Tribute
On the same day, the National Assembly passed a unanimous resolution honoring the sacrifices of those who defended the nation. The resolution reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to safeguard its sovereignty at all costs.
Display of Military Strength
At Shakarparian Parade Ground, the public was invited to view military equipment used in the Battle of Truth, including aircraft, tanks, artillery, radars, and other advanced weaponry.
Distinguished Guests
President Asif Ali Zardari attended as the chief guest, alongside Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the chiefs of the armed forces, and national and international dignitaries.
