Field Marshal Asim Munir Strengthens US-Pakistan Defense and Community Ties During Official Visit

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is on an official visit to the United States. During his trip, he has held important meetings with American political and military leaders as well as members of the Pakistani-American community.

In Tampa, the Army Chief attended the retirement ceremony of outgoing US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander General Michael E. Kurilla and the change-of-command ceremony where Admiral Brad Cooper officially took charge.

Appreciating US-Pakistan Cooperation

Speaking at the event, Asim Munir praised General Kurilla’s leadership and his valuable contributions in strengthening US-Pakistan military cooperation. He also extended his best wishes to Admiral Cooper, expressing confidence that bilateral collaboration would continue to address shared security challenges.

High-Level Military Discussions

The Army Chief met with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Kane. Both leaders discussed issues of mutual professional interest and defense cooperation. Asim Munir also invited General Kane to visit Pakistan.

In addition, the Army Chief held informal meetings with defense chiefs from friendly nations.

Engaging the Pakistani Community

During an introductory session with the Pakistani community in the US, Asim Munir urged them to remain confident in Pakistan’s bright future. He encouraged them to play an active role in boosting investment in the country.
