Humaima Malik Apologizes to Mufti Tariq Masood Over Controversial Film Dialogue

A video of Islamic scholar Mufti Tariq Masood has gone viral on TikTok, in which he shares a private phone conversation with actress Humaima Malik. The discussion centered around a controversial dialogue from the critically acclaimed film Bol, where Humaima’s character had said:

> “Jab khila nahi saktay to paida kyun kartay ho?”

(“If you can’t feed them, why do you give birth to them?”)

Mufti Tariq Masood explained that he had publicly criticized the dialogue for being against Islamic and moral values.

Humaima Expresses Deep Regret and Seeks Forgiveness

Mufti Tariq revealed that Humaima Malik called him personally and expressed deep remorse after watching his criticism of the dialogue. She admitted that:

> “I begged Allah for forgiveness after realizing how wrong it was. Even my mother scolded me for that line.”

She emphasized that she wanted to confess this to ease her heart and set the record straight.

Actress’s Mother Also Joined the Apology

According to Mufti Tariq, Humaima’s mother also spoke to him over the phone, expressing her agreement that the line was inappropriate and had deeply hurt her daughter afterward.

They both pointed out that the real fault lies with those who wrote and funded the script, possibly under the influence of NGOs promoting anti-family or anti-religious themes in media.

Scholar Appreciates the Apology as a Sign of Faith

Mufti Tariq Masood praised Humaima’s act of seeking forgiveness, stating:

> “No matter what profession someone belongs to, a true Muslim’s heart is always soft and inclined toward truth.”
