A horrifying double murder in the name of honour has rocked Balochistan and caused widespread public outrage across Pakistan. A man and a woman were brutally killed by over 20 armed men in a remote mountainous area just days before Eid-ul-Adha. The graphic video of the incident went viral on social media, leaving people stunned and furious.

According to local media, the main suspect Bashir Ahmed and 19 others have been arrested. Among them are tribal chief Sherbaz Satakzai, his four brothers, and two personal guards. A case has been registered at Hanna Urak Police Station, and Sherbaz has been remanded for two days.
Celebrities React With Grief and Anger
The brutality of the incident has deeply affected many, including well-known figures from the entertainment industry.
Hania Aamir condemned the hypocrisy of society by saying, “If women start honour killing men, not a single man will be left.”
Hadiqa Kiani reflected in a post, “Every day brings a new tragedy. This isn’t just a crime; it’s a reflection of ignorance and institutional failure.”
Minal Khan wrote, “My heart aches. Such barbarity belongs to the dark ages, not to a civilized society.”
Hira Khan called for divine justice and prayed for the murdered woman, stating, “I hope those who witnessed this are ready to answer to God.”
Mishi Khan posted a video criticizing the broken legal system and widespread corruption, asking, “What was their crime? Choosing to love?”
Veteran actor Naumaan Ijaz added, “Even in war, women are protected. Yet here, they’re being killed for love.”
Government Clarifies Victims Had No Marital Bond
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti clarified during a press conference that the two victims were not a married couple as previously rumored. Both were already married with children. The murdered woman had five children, and her husband’s name is Noor. The man also had six children.
He urged the public to avoid spreading misinformation without verification, especially in the age of social media where false narratives can easily go viral.
The Flawed Justice of Tribal Systems
CM Bugti also highlighted the ongoing issue of tribal justice (jirga system), acknowledging that while the government is actively trying to dismantle such unlawful setups, their influence still looms
in many areas of Balochistan.
