Qasim Khan, son of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has taken to social media to express deep concern over his father’s continued solitary confinement in Adiala Jail. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Qasim shared a heartfelt and emotional message about what he called an “unjust and intentional attempt to break a man who stood for democracy.”
Over 700 Days in Solitary Confinement
In his post, Qasim revealed that Imran Khan has now spent more than 700 days in solitary confinement without access to family, lawyers, or even his personal physician.
> “My father has been denied contact with us, his children. Even his doctor has been refused access,” Qasim wrote.
“This is not justice. This is a deliberate attempt to isolate and mentally break a man who stood for the rule of law, democracy, and Pakistan.”
Past Interview and Plea for International Attention
This is not the first time Imran Khan’s sons have spoken out. Two months earlier, Qasim and his brother Sulaiman gave a rare interview calling on the international community to exert pressure for their father’s release. They described his imprisonment conditions as “inhumane” and urged global leaders to act.
> “We are trying to free our father, restore democracy in Pakistan, and ensure his basic human rights,” the brothers said.
Qasim added: “If anyone can grab international attention, it’s someone like Trump. We need the world to see what’s happening.”
Imran Khan’s Legal Struggles
Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been in Adiala Jail since August 2023. He is facing multiple charges, including the £190 million corruption case and cases under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Despite global concern and repeated appeals, his access to basic rights continues to be a major human rights issue, now amplified by his own chi
ldren on international platforms.
