Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh has a refreshing perspective on paparazzi culture. In a recent interview, the 46-year-old actor expressed that he considers being photographed by the media a sign of respect. Unlike many celebrities who seek privacy for their children, Riteish and his wife Genelia D’Souza encourage a more open approach.
Teaching Kids Respect for Media
Riteish openly shared how his children—10-year-old Riaan and 8-year-old Rahyl—often greet photographers with folded hands and smiles. “There’s no fixed way to deal with media exposure for kids,” Riteish said. “Every parent must decide what’s best for their child.”
He emphasized that while some parents prefer to shield their children from the spotlight—especially after incidents like the 2025 break-in at Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s house—he respects those choices fully.
“Cameras Are Everywhere”
According to Riteish, avoiding cameras is nearly impossible in today’s world. His children participate in sports and attend public events, where photographers are often present. “We explain to them that being photographed doesn’t make them special. They’re just kids like anyone else,” he noted.
Why He Sees It as Respect
Riteish believes that when someone takes a picture of you, it’s not just a click—it’s an acknowledgment. “I tell my kids, when someone asks for a photo, just smile and say thank you. The person behind the camera is also working hard,” he said. “Don’t overthink it. Just behave normally.”
Every Parent Has Their Own Way
While the Deshmukhs are comfortable with media presence, Riteish insists on not judging others. “It’s a personal decision. Some want their children away from the limelight, and that’s completely valid,” he said.
In a celebrity world often guarded by privacy concerns, Riteish Deshmukh’s calm and respectful outlook stands out. He’s not just raising stars—he’s raising respectful, grounded children who
understand the world beyond the lens.
