Karachi: In a shocking incident from Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Karachi, a man named Salman Farooqui has been arrested for physically assaulting a motorcyclist in front of his sisters following a minor accident.
Citizen Turns Street into Personal Court
The incident took place in Khayaban-e-Ittehad, where Salman Farooqui, reportedly enraged over a minor collision, attacked a motorcyclist while his sisters pleaded for him to stop. Despite their cries and repeated requests, Farooqui continued the assault.
Police Action and Arrest
According to DIG South Asad Raza, Salman Farooqui has been arrested and transferred to Gizri Police Station.
DIG Raza confirmed that raids were conducted at the suspect’s home and office, leading to his arrest. Farooqui has been found directly involved in the act of violence and will be presented before a magistrate within 24 hours.
Investigation Underway
The police official further stated:
“The suspect is being interrogated, and we aim to ensure he receives strict legal punishment.”
He added that a first information report (FIR) has been registered based on the complaint of a bystander who filmed the video, and that the police are now reaching out to the victim of the assault.

The viral video of the incident has sparked widespread outrage on social media, showing Salman Farooqui repeatedly hitting the motorcyclist, ignoring the pleas of the man’s sisters.
Authorities confirmed:
“The footage clearly shows Salman Farooqui’s involvement. A case has been lodged by the citizen who captured the video at the scene.”
